Sophie Tom has been making journeys difficult for the last fifteen years.

She started in 1994 with an overland expedition from Hull, England to Kathmandu, Nepal, taking six weeks in a 20-year-old Landrover.

This was the beginning of such exigent art making.

The images in the book though taken from different journeys (see below) are themselves part process, part performance. The voyage itself responds to a specific set of rules in order for her to arrive.
